How can I improve my SEO ranking on Google?
We get asked this very question all the time at Leading Motion and although there are many things we can do to help your website list better on Google (and the other major search engines) the number one answer is always still the same...
Publish relevant quality content on a regular basis to show Google your are an active, progressive company.
Most website designers will design you a lovely looking website with all the bells and whistles, call to actions, bespoke forms, social media links, mobile ready features, fancy fading images, active live chat, etc but if your new site is not updated regularly with unique content then it's going to get left behind.
If your website designer's own website is not listing organically on page one of Google then I would ask why? If they cannot get their own site on the first page for "Website Design Colchester" then what chance have they got to get your company website listed in the same way?
In order to get better / higher listing for your site you will need access to your website's CMS (AKA Content Management System) so you can log in, update and post new, unique content.
